Solo TTRPGs have continued to be a source of excitement, exploration, and expression during our travels. Despite my enthusiasm, I don’t move very quickly with them. This doesn’t bother me especially. I know it is because I’m stopping to create art about the worlds, or sometimes diverting entirely to go on hikes, explore new recipes or take art classes in a new medium. So, it’s all good. But I am slow making progress.
Sundered Isles (Link to official site)
Still my favorite, “go-to” game that gives me an experience that matches what I had always hoped from TTRPs.
- The young heroine is searching for her mother, who she thought was killed, but may in fact be alive
- The world is made up of floating islands and steam-powered technology
- I’m working through creating some new rules for herbalism and alchemy which are more detailed than the original game provides.

Koriko: A Magical Year (Link to official site)
During the past few weeks, Koriko has taken the place of what I had thought Apothecaria would do…providing a quiet journaling game when I don’t feel like playing something more adventurous.
- Even though I didn’t end up sticking with Apothecaria, I really liked the Ancient Greece / mythology setting so I “ported”over the character and setting from Apothecaria to Koriko. The original Koriko game is meant to be played as a teenage witch and I am not sure I want to roleplay a teenager so this character will be a good place to start.
- The character starts in a small town and sets off to spend a year in the big city, apprenticing and learning their trade.
- So far I’ve only completed the journey to the city, but I’ve really enjoyed it.

There are so many games I’d like to play in the future. I’ll continue chronicling them here!
