We are hoping to start a regular game night and ordered a few items to get us kicked off.
We already have a couple decks of playing cards and some computer games, but no board games. There are so many options that I reached out to a friend and board game aficionado who I met on the Ironsworn Discord.
Our goals were to incorporate elements of both strategy and luck, to be somewhat quick to play, and not to take up too much space (either in storage in a box or while playing on a table).
Arborerum and 7 Wonders Duel were two of the ones he recommended that appealed to us.
I elected to try Hive just because I really liked the design. We’ll see whether that was a good criteria!
So far we’ve played one game of 7 Wonders Duel and while it is always a little clunky to play for the first time, we both liked it. I think we need at least 1-2 more tries before we know whether it’s “for us.”
